Why I'm the Right Instructor for You!

Alejandro C. Giordano brings over three decades of hands-on experience to the world of professional rafting and river safety. He has worked as a rafting guide since 1993, navigating rivers across multiple continents and countries, and developing exceptional expertise in a wide range of river environments, climates, and cultural contexts.

Through his extensive international career, Alejandro has gained a deep understanding of best practices in risk management, river rescue, leadership, and guide development, making him highly effective in both field operations and instructional settings. His ability to adapt to different teams, regulations, and cultural approaches to guiding sets him apart as a truly global professional.

Alejandro is an outstanding choice as an instructor and assessor for the International Rafting Federation (IRF). He is exceptionally qualified to internationally certify Rafting Guides, Safety Kayakers, Trip Leaders, and Instructors, combining real-world experience with clear, structured, and safety-focused teaching methods. His passion for excellence, commitment to safety, and international perspective make him a trusted leader and mentor within the rafting community worldwide.

Do I need prior rafting or rescue experience?

No prior experience is required for most introductory rafting guide courses or river rescue courses. Advanced or professional-level courses may require previous rafting, kayaking, or swiftwater experience.

What is the minimum age to participate?

Participants must typically be 16–18 years old, depending on the course and local regulations. Minors may require parental consent.

What level of swimming ability is required?

You should be a confident swimmer and comfortable in moving water. You do not need to be an elite swimmer, but basic water confidence is essential.

What equipment is provided?

Participants are usually responsible for personal clothing and footwear. For IRF certifications, you need to have your own equipment. We provide river equipment for Beginners. Inquire in advance.

What safety measures are in place?

Safety is my top priority. Courses are led by certified instructors, follow strict risk management protocols, and include safety briefings, rescue backups, and appropriate instructor-to-student ratios.
